AMERICA in 3D is coming to ILOILO on March 2-4, 2012! If you check my previous blog post, you will read more details about this event.

Aside from the various activities they have prepared for us Ilonggos, they have also prepared contests where everyone can join. One of them is America in 3D Kabataan Challenge and the one I am blogging about is the ILOve ILOILO Photo Challenge.

I am encouraging everyone to join this contest as well because I myself have submitted my entry already! For more information please see contest details below:

AMERICA in 3D Contest: ILOve ILOILO Photo Challenge

ILOve ILOILO Photo Challenge

  • Submit an original (raw or edited) photo taken in Iloilo. The photo should somehow represent Iloilo culture, landmarks, people, etc.
  • This challenge is open to Philippine residents ages 13 and older.
  • Deadline for submission is on February 24, 2012 11:59pm
  • We support the following formats: .jpg, .gif, and .png. To upload your photo entry, click on “Enter Contest”, fill out the form and on the next page, upload your photo and include a title/caption. Copyrighted photos or photos downloaded from the internet will not be considered valid entries. Edited photos may be submitted as long as they are original photos.
  • Photos including nudity or vulgar content are not allowed.
  • Entries will be screened to certify that they abide by guidelines.  All accepted entries will be posted on the U.S. Embassy Facebook “Contests/Challenges” page tab
  • Voting is open from February 25 through February 27, 2012.
  • The best entries will be determined based on a review panel and the number of votes for the entry.
  • Only followers of the U.S. Embassy Facebook page can vote.

If you have been watching MYX then you probably must have seen David Dimuzio’s new music video entitled (I’ll Do Anything) Para Sa’yo. If you are from Iloilo or have been to Iloilo then you must have known that the locations of the music video is in fact in – you guessed it – Iloilo!

I appreciate everyone who promotes my hometown so I am gladly helping the artist by posting his song here on my blog.

Schedule of Activities for Dinagyang Festival 2012

Tribu Bola-Bola

Dinagyang Festival 2012 fever is here once again and Ilonggos, Pinoys and foreign visitors are all excited to witness not only the Dinagyang Ati Tribes competition but also to experience lots of exciting activities lined up for this year.

This year will also mark the change of the traditional carousel parade route. JUDGING AREAS will be located at:

#1 – Freedom Grandstand
#2 – front of old Iloilo Provincial Capitol
#3 – Huervana-Luna (Injap Bldg-Andoks-Gaisano City intersection)
#4 – Iloilo Sports Complex

Let me share with you guys the winning performance of Tribu Pan-ay last year. Credits to my “media partner” Tim Nombre. :)

The Visayas Blogging Summit & Blog Awards will be the very first event of its kind to be hosted here in Iloilo. These two events will gather bloggers from all over Visayas, invited guests from Luzon and expert speakers from different fields. The goal of the Visayas Blogging Summit (VBS) is to gather ideas and explore the potential impact of blogging on society, business and politics. The Visayas Blog Awards, on the other hand, aims to recognize notable Visayan-owned and Visayan-related blogs in their respective niches.

Are you like Manny Pacquiao? Do you have the toughest job?

Okay guys I hope you are ready for this! I am having my very first blog contest! I am really excited about this and I hope you – yes YOU – my awesome blog reader will join! This contest is actually in line with Alaxan FR and DOLE’s Search for the Toughest Jobs in the Philippines. Alaxan FR and the Department of Labor and Employment are intent in looking for the Pinoy who has the toughest job here in the Philippines so I want to help them by having my very own blog contest and hopefully a lot of Ilonggos will join!
