They have tried all of the outward trappings – new cars, new houses, wardrobes, careers, relationships – and found that while those things can bring some joy and satisfaction, the positive feelings are only fleeting and they can also bring added stress and gets exhausting. If you are feeling sad, if you are having one of those melancholic days, try to turn on the JOY switch. Sometimes in my case, that switching on will take a lot of prodding, and other times I find that I can switch to happy mode in the blink of an eye.
