Here’s what I’ve been up to lately..
I have been busy with:
I will attend:
I want to attend:

I have been listening to:
I am fascinated with:
First of all let me get one thing straight – I am not in any way affiliated with DLSU. I did not study in any of their schools – period.
I am just blogging about their hymn – the reggae version.
If you’re a frequent visitor of my blog you’ll know that I am an avid listener of reggae music and I am one of Bob Marley’s millions of fans. Reggae music makes me groove to it. Reggae music helps me chill and relax. So when Tim shared with me a song from his phone I was immediately curious as to who sang it and what the title of the song is. The beat is great and only after I listened to the lyrics well and after Tim told me did I knew that it was the reggae version of the Lasallian Alma Mater Hymn. Tim by the way is a graduate of the University of St. La Salle – Bacolod. He doesn’t usually talk of his alma mater but he shared with me the hymn. I think because he also finds it cool. I don’t know about the other stuffs he doesn’t talk about though.
So after I transferred the song to my phone via bluetooth I made it my ring tone. It really is cool and to those who haven’t heard it yet I have the video below. I tried to look for the name of the group who sang this but Google is not cooperating with me. So if you any of you know who the cool guys on the video are please share it with me by leaving a comment so I can properly thank and attribute the song to them.
By the way, I was also looking for my high school alma mater’s hymn but I couldn’t find anything about it online. Do any of you have an audio copy of Colegio de San Jose‘s college hymn? I have the lyrics (Spanish and English) but I also would like to have an audio copy.
Back to the topic, here’s the Lasallian Alma Mater Hymn – Reggae Version.
“Lasallian Alma Mater Hymn”
Hail, Hail
Alma Mater,
Hail to De La Salle!
We’ll hold your banner high and bright,
A shield of green and white,
We’ll fight to keep your glory bright,
And never shall we fail,
Hail to thee our Alma Mater!
Hail! Hail! Hail!
So there I was working my arse off last night, actually it was very early this morning around 5:49AM Philippine Time, multi-tasking and plurking with my plurky friends when one friend plurked that Michael Jackson has passed away. I couldn’t believe the shocking news at first so I googled it and I read that he had suffered a cardiac arrest. He collapsed at the mansion that he was renting at the exclusive neighborhood of Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. He was rushed by paramedics to UCLA Medical Center where physicians battled for more than an hour to revive the King of Pop before he was pronounced dead.
Well before the bad news was confirmed me and my Plurk friends were actually not very sure if Michael Jackson really did passed away (I’m using these words for Heather *hugs*) because TMZ was the only site online that’s actually reporting it while CNN and Reuters were all mum about it and were just reporting that Michael was just in a state of coma. We were all hoping that he was only just in a coma and not dead. But our hopes were crushed when CNN and Reuters did report that the King of Pop has actually passed away.
This was a very unexpected and shocking news to all of Michael Jackson’s fans. Before this day he was scheduled to have a long-awaited series of comeback concerts. Nobody expected this to happen but he was after all very sick and I won’t elaborate on this note. But we are all only human and death is a certainty. So what we can do now is pray for him and hope that he rests in peace. The King of Pop’s music will live on forever!
Here’s my favorite Michael Jackson song – “Heal The World”
I don’t know if you guys have seen this video yet but if you haven’t well now you will. Lol. I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift since I heard the song “Teardrops On My Guitar” and I have followed her online everywhere since then. She really sings very well – even live! And she composes her own songs which is rare with artists nowadays. She also has a very bubbly personality which is what attracted me to her the most. I love people with bubbly personalities – not paranoid, schizophrenic, pathetic people who got nothing else to do but waste their time on spreading stupid rumors about other people’s happy lives. Right JonhaR! Lol. Sorry I got sidetracked there, hehe. Back to the topic. On an episode of CMT Crossroads, Great Britain’s popular rock band Def Leppard collaborated with American country superstar Taylor Swift. They collaborated on each others’ hits in front of an invitation-only audience! Oh how I wish I was there! Bet you didn’t see this happening didn’t you? Def Leppard and Taylor Swift! Rock band and country music superstar! They performed Taylor’s chart toppers – “Our Song” and “Love Story.” Also featured were Def Leppard’s classics including “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and “Photograph.”
Here are 2 of my favorite songs on that CMT Crossroads episode – Love Story and Photograph. Enjoy! And if you want more I have MORE on my YouTube Channel!
