Last month we went to Silay City, Negros Occidental to attend the Visayas leg of the Philippine Blog Awards. Outstanding bloggers, old and newbies were awarded that day and we got the chance to meet and network with the Negros Bloggers as well. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate them for a job well done!

But what I was excited most was the Silay City tour the next day and one of the highlights of the tour was when we went to Fresh Start Organics Farm. We were met there by the owner Mr.  Ramon “Chin-Chin” Uy, Jr.  and his staff.

Fresh Start Organics is a privately owned company which was founded in 2005 by Mr. Ramon Uy and his wife Mrs. Francine Uy. They actually first started as producers of organic fertilizers and their company has grown into a business whose expanded product range includes not only certified organic fertilizers, but also fresh and let me say it again “ORGANIC” produce, organic rice, organic coffee (my favorite!) as well as organic pigs (they are vegetarian pigs) and free range chickens. Other additions to Fresh Start’s product lines include Healthy Pantries and Natural Personal Care products.

We are here in Roxas City, Capiz for the Sinadya sa Halaran Festival 2011 and so far we’re having so much fun! During this time of the year you can feel the intensity of faith and fun of the Capiznons as they enjoy this grateful celebration of sharing of blessings.  The theme for this year is “Paghiliusa kg pagkinasadya kaupod sang Birhen Santa Maria.” The festival started yesterday and it is ongoing until December 11th. So you still have time to come here!

I just had another weekend of pure awesomeness! It has been a string of travel weekends for me and last weekend was no exception. So here’s how I got lucky -again: Junelle was given an invitation by Ma’am Pearl Lena which she relayed to us in our Iloilo Bloggers Inc. group page on Facebook. It was an invitation from the Iloilo City Hall Press Corp for 2 bloggers to join them in ICHPC’s Lakbay Aral with DOT on June 18-20, 2011. Since no one was available – except me and Junnjun of GigsIlonggo) – that’s how we got lucky! :D

Manila, Kabankalan, Bacolod Weekend

Last June 4th to 6th I had one of my most exciting weekends ever! Just sharing my photos here. We had lunch at Rack’s with Ms. Janette Toral at Racks (SM City North Edsa). We checked out the mall then chilled out at Krispy Kreme before going to Quezon City Circle to meet with my cousin Jinky. After that we went to Bonifacio High Street to meet with Monica. Had dinner at Gerry’s Grill and coffee at The Coffee Bean. That was a super packed weekend! It was nice catching up with some of the most important people in my life.
